An Oklahoma state representative who intended to intoduce a measure limiting huntes to six- points-or-better bucks is eating crow instead of venison after his bill read that legal deer must have 12 points. An assistant for Rep. Colby Schwartz assured hunters the bill won’t pass a committee hearing and laid blame on — who else? — lawyers. “Our staff lawyers are not avid deer hunters,” said Caitlin Harwell. “It was never meant to be written as a 6-point on each side.” Ed Godfrey in The Oklahoman.
