Gulf Council to convene a series of Recreational Angler Participation sessions around the Gulf Coast

From Coastal Conservation Association:  It is glaringly apparent that the views and concerns of recreational anglers are not being heard by federal fisheries managers. In an effort to reach out to the recreational angling community, the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council has scheduled a series of Recreational Angler Participation sessions – or RAP sessions – to hear about the issues Gulf of Mexico recreational anglers have regarding current federal fisheries management and to explore potential solutions to those issues.

This is an opportunity for anyone with concerns about federal recreational fisheries regulations to finally have their voice heard and play a role in shaping the future of recreational fisheries management.  Two sessions are planned for Texas:

January 13, 2014
6 pm – 9 pm
University of Texas Marine Science Institute
630 E. Cotter Street
Port Aransas, TX 78373

January 14, 2014
6 pm – 9 pm
Bass Pro Shop
1000 Bass Pro Drive Houston, TX 77047

CCA is encouraging its members in Texas and all along the Gulf Coast to take advantage of these unique opportunities in their state. For those who cannot attend an in-person meeting, there will be an online meeting January 27 from 6-9 p.m. To register for this webinar, visit:www4.gotomeeting.com/register/390667327
