I visited with Jerry Anderson at Lake Whitney Marina www.lakewhitneymaria.com yesterday and he says blue catfish up to 24 pounds have been landed off the docks there at the marina, around the striper cleaning station. If blues are biting here, chances are very good they are hitting big chunks of cutbait drifted along the Braozos ledges in hte lower lake.
Drift fishing is a great way to cover lots of water and locate a concentration of blues. Winter is definately 'trophy' blue season. My favorite lake for catching them is Tawakoni but there are many other blue hotspots in Texas, thanks to anaggressive stocking program that began a couple decades ago. Good fishing, stay warm!
